We lost everything in an apartment fire on 12.12.10. The fire destroyed 4 apartments and a business attached to the building. The fire department helped us locate our fire safe. It was terribly damaged on the outside and could not be unlocked, but the firemen had no trouble opening it with their tools. Everything inside was untouched! Keep in mind that this is not a waterproof safe and water from hoses will get in the safe but a plastic bag or ziplock bags would do the trick. We were able to dry everything out.
