The James Burn Koilmatic Coil Inserter/Crimper comes with 13 spine formers, which store in the machine's front panel. These spine formers allow for easier coil insertion by creating a curve to the binding edge to match the curvature in the coil being inserted. The vertical book placement into the machine allows sheets to settle into the contour of the book former. The cut and bend heads can be positioned for 8.5" or 11" binding edges, and finish the coil after insertion, simultaneously cutting and crimping both ends; the offcut scraps fall into a disposal drawer. Foot pedal operation keeps the users hands free to handle coil and books. The Koilmatic has on board electronic diagnostic capabilities in the event of any problems; the machine's status is communicated at all times by the LCD screen .
