GBC 8544 Professional Single-sided Finishing System Laminates Prints Up to 44” Wide at High Speeds
GBC, a market leader in the manufacturing and distribution of laminating and binding products, introduces the GBC 8544SS Professional Single-sided Finishing System. Designed to fill a hole in the commercial print market for wider high-speed laminators, the 8544SS accommodates sheet sizes from 11”x17” to 44”x44”.
Running a variety of commercial thermal films, the GBC 8544SS is well-suited to laminate various types of packaging as well as dust jackets, book covers, and gift bags. With easy setups, touch screen controls, and pneumatically controlled nip pressure, the 8544SS is designed to be run by a single operator.
The 8544 provides a unique tensioning system that automatically detects changes in tension and adjusts throughout the full length of a 9000 foot roll. Other advanced features of the 8544SS include an adjustable timing mechanism for consistent sheet registration; an enclosed loop water-heated chrome roller for temperature control; and an adjustable bow roller to eliminate wrinkles in the film before lamination.
The GBC 8544SS integrates an advanced feeder to deliver seamless workflow. It also features a separator with a rotating wheel to accurately perforate and snap sheets.
GBC recommends running the 8544SS with single-sided high-speed laminates including GBC Lay-Flat, GBC’s new Scuff-free Matte OPP, polypropylene, and polyester films.
