The Formax FD 280 Tabbing System applies multiple edge tabs per mailing unit at a rate of over 15,000 pieces per hour. With this high volume tabber, creating large quantities of mail-ready documents is fast and easy.

Technical Summary:

The Formax FD 280 is a double headed tabbing system capable of producing high volumes of mail-ready documents by applying multiple edge tabs. Up to 3 tabs per pass may be applied in several configurations; one tab on each edge adjacent to the folded edge; one tab on one adjacent edge and two tabs on the other adjacent edge; or up to three tabs on the edge opposite the folded edge. This tabber can use either 1" or 1.5" tabs; change size with the flick of a switch. High volume tabbing is achieved using fan folded tabs, or for even higher volume, you can add one or two of the FD 280-20 High Volume Tab Delivery Modules with spooled tabs. Built in waste take-up spools minimize down time. This machine can be used in-line with labelers, printers, or paper folders (like the Formax FD 342, FD 382 or FD38x), or can be fed with the FD 280-10 Heavy Duty Feeder to maximize efficiency; up to 12" of material can be stacked to feed into the tabber at a rate of up to 250 feet per minute. The optional FD 260-20 Conveyor can also be added; speed is adjustable up to 120 feet per minute, transporting completed mailpieces away from the machine and stacking them in sequential order for easy removal. For low-volume jobs, the FD 260-30 Catch Tray helps stack and organize tabbed documents.
