The Formax FD 8650HS is an office size shredder with industrial strength, commercial grade features, and meets the requirements of NSA/CSS specification 02-01 for Level 6 High Security cross cut shredders. Heavy duty steel gears propel the powerful, thermally protected continuous duty motor, making this shredder durable and reliable.
Technical Summary:
The Formax FD 8650HS has a sturdy all-metal cabinet with casters and a heavy duty waste bin. An easy to use LED Control Panel operates the functions of the shredder and indicates the shred load. An optical sensor detects paper and engages the motor; a manual function is present for shredding small paper which the sensor cannot detect. Several other sensors dictate functions of the machine: the motor automatically stops if the door safety sensor detects the cabinet door is open; when the waste bin is full, the motor stops; and in the event of a jam, built-in controls switch the motor into reverse. In the event of decreased shred capacity, a one minute auto clean cycle can be initiated by holding the reverse button for 5 seconds. The EvenFlow™ Internal AutoOiler lubricates the cutting blades periodically for optimal performance, and the heat treated cutting cylinders require little oil, because they have been specially ground for longevity.
