The 270 TS S5 is capable of shredding plastic materials (like CDs, DVDs and credit cards), and has separate sets of cutting blades and distinct bags for separating shredded materials. It can also shred staples and paper clips, thanks to its carbon hardened cutting knives. Its Electronic Power Control system shows the shredding load required to optimize shredding without jams.
